1. The overall picture consisting of nail and skin mycosis, alopecia due to ectodermal dystrophy, and multiple autoimmune endocrinopathies, clinically leading to hypocortisolism and hypoparathyroidism resulted into the correct diagnosis.

2. The causes of growth disturbances of organic origin are chromosomal aberrations (e.g., Down syndrome), dysmorphology syndromes (e.g., Russell-Silver syndrome), endocrinopathies (e.g., hypopituitary dwarfism), chronic diseases (e.g., celiac disease), and bone dysplasias (e.g., achondroplasia).

3. The most frequent cause of this endocrinopathy has been a solitary adenoma of the adrenal cortex (72%); bilateral adrenocortical hyperplasia has been the cause of primary hyperaldosteronism in 27% of cases; less frequently, the cause has been multiple and/or bilateral adenomas (1%).
